Sorry for yet another question on the road to getting the new boat up and running.....

I have discovered that the Fairline is fitted with a Marinco shorepower socket rated at 50 amps. Trouble is my local chandler has quoted c.£100 for the plug alone (+ £17 for the waterproof cover and screw ring).

Anyone any ideas where I might go to get a suitable plug without paying the ridiculous Boat Added Tax.......?

Thanks,
Matt

I think I'm gonna pad-lock mine up!!!!! £100 seems ott.
If you cant find one for the right price and want to diy then the actual plug that plugs into your marinco socket on the boat is made by hubble. The cheapest way to do this is through RS components. They do Hubble connectors for £21, plus a you will need a boot £10, a bit of 2.5mm 3 core orange mains cable and a 16A 3 pin connector for the other end to plug into the marina sockets oh...and a screw driver. About £40 the lot.
Have you put it in the water yet, or still stuff to do?

Hi Ian,

Thanks for this. I have a cable already with 16A 3 pin round for the Marina supply end - I just need the boat end. Does the Hubble definately fit the Marinco socket?

Antifouling done.
Sterndrive service done.
Engine service being finished tonight.
Turbo gaskets done.
Supercharger idle wheel done.
So, she is going in the water tomorrow so the engineers can finish the last bit and check everything is OK at running speed and temp.

...Roll on the weekend !
