It is not as if the Baltic Ace was a small coaster?

.

With respect,

even a small coaster could ruin the day for a yacht without even noticing !

I once saw a small ship bounding along N of the Casquets, heading North; both wheelhouse doors were open and I could see straight through; nobody there...

Just as in on the road on a motorbike, assume the other guy is a homicidal berk until he proves otherwise...

As Seajet says..

I remember a story about a sail training yacht that went "missing" around that part of the world some ten years back..

Bits we found a few days later. Seems it was run down in the dark..

Horrid thought..

Hmmmm, Baltic Ace was travelling NE having left Zeebrugge, destination Kotka, Finland and the Corvis J was travelling SSE departed UK, destination Antwerp.

I wonder who was(n't) watch-keeping ? It is not as if the Baltic Ace was a small coaster? :(

.

I am speculating here, but I suspect that the Baltic was hit somewhere towards the back and flooded the engine room.. The crew in there would only have known about it as the water rushed in...
