I see you've already found the S&S blog with the design details.

There's also this from Yachtnet:
http://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/archives/she-36/she-36.htm

You also might use the Yachting World reprint service to get a copy of a three-page article they did on the She 36 sometime in 1992.

Incidentally, it's now S&S of Greenwich, Connecticut with brokerage offices in Lauderdale and Newport. The sky high rent finally drove them out of NY.

Hi Ludovic, good choice, another forumite was after info. on one of these in the last year or so; so a google search 'ybw SHE 36' should bring up something. I had offered to send him an old magazine critique on the boat but I think I still have it somewhere, he has since bought a UFO.
If you want it pm me and I will try and hunt it out and email you a copy of the article..

If your request for text was aimed at me?
I have a copy of 'Sailing Today' date June 2006. In it there is a six page 'Used Boat Test' by Duncan Kent with information on a She 36 called 'Complicity' first launched in 1980 but refitted with a modified internal layout some years later.
The first two pages are an introduction with photo and a specification.
The second two pages are text and photos of the interior.
The last two pages are external photos and comments on performance at sea.

If you already own a She 36 you will know most of what is reported in the article but if you want to read it anyway, I can send it to you. I can mail it to you or I can scan the pages on my computer and email them to you. I would need to know if you want it and if so where to send it. It is not a good idea to reveal all your contact details on an open forum, so instead you should send your details to me in a PM (private message) via the forum.

To send a PM scroll down to 'forum jump' at the bottom of the screen, click to open the menu, the private message page is near the top of the list.

HI
I owned a SHE 36 for many years - the best boat I have ever owned and every time I see one I regret selling it. Not a lot of volume and yes it is wet going upwind in a blow but that is because you ARE still going upwind., The harder it blows these yachts just dig in & drive upwind.
Easy to sail single handed too - I did 5 transatlantics with her with no roller reefing or self tailing winches either.
If you can manage with the space you won't buy a better offshore boat with great sea keeping combined with sparkling performance.

SHE 36 - Sparkman and Stephens Association

Ludvig,

An excellent choice!!

As another post says there is no class association, but there is the Sparkman and Stephens Association. This is international and brings together owners of any S&S design yacht. Membership is about 300 and a wide variety, many SHE's and several 36's.

Google the association for the websites (there is Australian one for S&S34's, a general one and a UK one.)

http://www.sparkmanstephens.info/home.php

There is a small, but energetic group in France, we keep in contact via annual rallies, 2012 is up near Kiel.

PS it's not expensive to join.

I can only agree with this... An absolutely fantastic boat, in which i've probably sailed 5,000nm, and undoubtedly the best boat I have ever sailed...
