I am selling a 24ft Trailer Sailer (Hunter Legend 240)
It is on a mooring, Would I be better getting it out of the water to sell it, so buyers can inspect the hull
or leave it on the mooring so I can offer a trial sail.

Think I would keep it on the mooring and offer a trial sail, then if favourable, haul for hull inspection. One assumes that being a trailer sailer it has a trailer and is easy to haul out?

I'd leave it in the water so you can sail it in the meantime ? a serious buyer may well want a trial sail and then if the chat gets serious you can talk about getting it out for a proper poke about and transport away.....I suppose it's also a question of storage...if you take her out, do you have somewhere to keep it, potentially for a while?

I'd rather see a lovely polished hull and clean undersides/prop, clean fenders etc. that can be stowed undercover
as first impressions count big time, if they do take it out for a trial, it's easy to rinse it off and put back in storage. All assuming to do that is easy and doesn't incur too much in the way of costs.

Always a problem as a buyer I already have an idea how a type of boat will sail rarely will it be a lemon if a know make and or can probably see avid on internet of it sailing Would preference to see it ashore, clean to inspect
