I guess the simple (but least elegant) solution would be a couple of webbing straps (which would also hold the draws shut) with 4 webbing eyes screw to the floor.
I quite like the idea of polished stainless plates on the legs with thumb screws into the recessed threaded pads, simple anti rattle catches on the drawers.
Maybe I should have kept the old pedestal table ? ;)

Keep the legs and add the central pedestal making it the exactly the same length as the legs. Secure it with the clamp screws as previously said. Appearance remains the same while it remains totally secure in all weathers. Sorted!:p

You mean stick the old pedestal in the middle so the legs just about dangle, thats brilliant :)

Just leaves the draws which a magnetic door catch should work .

You'd have to be in some serious waves to make that thing fall over, and it shouldn't slide either if you have carpet in the saloon, so i'd just have some webbing straps on board to lash it down if you have to do a heavy weather trip.

The drawers on the other hand will slide open at the mere suggestion of a wave, so you need a way to secure them with some kind of latch. Maybe you could fit the push button type fitted to most boat cabinetry

Those super grippy rubber mats for plates, fitted under the legs will stop any sliding, then to stop it capsizing in weather get one of those expanding posts such as can be fitted across a doorframe, fit between table and deckhead???

Thanks Alf, now thats a clever idea......
Bandit, I could get our (not so) little girl to just sit on it to hold it down..,she is only 5 stone. :)
fisherman, like your thinking, instead of strapping it down, force it down.
