SeaSmart - The intelligent marine toilet sanitizer.

Is there a shortage of seasmart pouches in some areas ? Those eBay versions look useful to try - how much roughly?
Loads of sellers on Ebay with different sizes. Will post here when I find correct match but cost looks to be around £4 for a pack of 10 and toilet cleaner from £1 a litre to £3 for the Ecover.

Seasmart still don’t appear to be back in business - anyone have any further info? Was thinking of buying into the system….
I've seen them exhibiting at the S'ton boatshow in the past, so this years (non) attendance could be an indicator if they are gone for good or just were away for an extended med cruise

I've only replaced the bag once since Feb '22, we spend roughly 10 weekends plus 1-2 weeks per season on the boat.
As posted previously, I take out the battery when we leave and when we get back, before using the heads, I inject a load using the prime button.

I feel I might need to do a search on eBay -not my natural locale but needs must I guess -we have the ecover and syringe to fill bags but having extracted the shim from seasmart by post and got it working again this summer annoying if cannot fill. Maybe a utube vid exists on filling the replacement bags.

Sadly an outdated statement on their website ("back in May 2023") and last couple of years accounts showing almost quarter of a million of debt with little in tangible assets to cover, the owner celebrating his 75th next month, it may be time to throw in the towel?

A Jabsco inlet filter/strainer [or similar] fitted near inlet and filled with urinal tablets keeps my inlet piping 'sweet'.
Alernatively, fit a valve and T-piece connecting the sink drain to the bog inlet.
Close both those sea cocks, wash your hands with anti-bac and pump it through the loo.

Anyone tried alternative pouches with another fluid and still have a working system? £23 for a small bag of BAC50 dyed blue seems a bit steep and not very sustainable or good for aquatic life.

It isn't blue anymore, it's biocide and lemon juice. See this thread/post ..

You can't use those drinks pouches as the original sachets have an internal tube in them. You can refill them using a large plastic syringe.

My supply of original £25 a pop pouches ran out so I have pressed into service a syringe and supermarket toilet cleaner diluted down so it will pump through the device OK. Refills c 20p instead of £25.

I have just read about this in the New Gear section of YM Summer edition. Seems to be a simple and safe solution to a nasty problem. Anyone got any experience with fitting/using and does it live up to expectation. I like the fact that all the connections are beside the toilet, even above the waterline, and can be seen daily without having to go below the floor to check.

I have looked at several other solutions and have been put off doing as I considered them to be the "weakest link" in the heads pipework, also most times out of view.
There was a post a while ago from a user suggesting that ("with skill " IIRC) the system sachets could be refilled with "something cheaper", unfortunately unspecified, but I'd probably try bleach.

Though, since I've been an old fart from a very early age, I'm probably more likely to be using a bucket. (but with a lid.)

I found enema syringes (readily available in Taiwan, where I mostly used them for brake flushing) quite hard to buy in The Yook. Pharmacists went all shifty looking and pretended to have never heard of syringes at all, and I had to order from Amazon

Youve saved quite a bit of money with that one, but it would seem that with the addition of an IV line (also readily available in Taiwan) and maybe a little sealant you could have made a manual version of the system, saving quite a lot more.

To late for you, of course, but maybe someone else might fancy doing their own Sea Squirting.
