Seen one I fancy would appreciate any oppinions. One thing I have read is that they are the worst boat ever in reverse, any ideas why. Also any idea how well they point.

I've had a Seamaster 925 for the past 6 years. Wonderful boat, safe, solid, sails very well, reasonably nifty if pushed, spacious compared to other types of boat of similar length and age.

True that reverse is not her strongest point. From a standing start, with my LH 2 blade prop, the stern will usually turn to starboard a fair bit. However for the past 2 years I've been reversing into my marina berth so it is possible. She needs a bit of speed before she become steerable in reverse, but once she's moving above maybe 1 or 1.5 knots, she will steer in reverse pretty well.

If that's your only concern, you should go ahead.

I have had a Seamaster 925 for 3 years now and I am extremely happy with it. She points as well as or perhaps slight higher than my previous Sadler 25 (fin keel).
Brilliant boat under sail, even better now with new set of sails.

I,ve had mine for 10 years, previous owner for 18 years which says something.
Been across Biscay, round Spain to S France, Ireland And Holland all single handed, great boat.
