As in, waterproof but breathable gloves and socks. Seem a good idea. Anyone with practical experience care to comment (in particular, on durability), before I part with the hard-earned?

Got the socks for seakayaking. They certainly work.Used them inside the excellent Lomo boots providing mechanical protection but they work on their own to keep you dry.Entertaining to stand in the pond in them. Now use them inside long sea boots, which is really over-kill.

The socks are excellent. I use them in a wet rib, with walking boots. Warm, comfy, dry. I am going to invest in the gloves and hat next.

Had the gloves for a couple of years - they are no longer waterproof. Still keep my hands warm, though they are a devil to get on when your hands are damp. The hat is good, though the inner layer slips around inside the outer - I end up with a very tall empty head.....par for the course, really

I have heard the gloves can be a bit tight and restrictive? No experience myself. Woollen gloves will keep your hands warm when wet but obviously not waterproof but they are breathable.

Bought a pair of those gloves (five years ago) Leaked first time on, so returned them to shop who replaced them (certain amount of incredulity on their part). Replacement pair let in water (significant amount) immediately.

Rubbish. Wouldn't recommend them at all.

I use second pair for dirty work in cold weather. They are restrictive and leak badly.

I can't understand the manufacturer's claim of "waterproof", nor any of the praising testimonials .

I had similar experience with their socks, but it was a few years back - maybe they've improved since?

I bought some socks a few years ago for my daughter and older grand daughter, thinking they were an expensive gimmick.
[I was impressed by a bloke standing in a bowl of water at the Boat Show]
The girls sail dinghies all year round and absolutely rely on these socks, they are excellent.
Younger grand daughter is miffed because they don't do her size.
The gloves I find are less successful, a bit clumsy and water gets down the cuff easily.
