As in, waterproof but breathable gloves and socks. Seem a good idea. Anyone with practical experience care to comment (in particular, on durability), before I part with the hard-earned?
I've got Sealskinz gloves and hat that I've used on a RIB during the winter, certainly kept the cold and wet out and are wearing well.
wore my socks on Saturday. As in, waterproof but breathable gloves and socks. Seem a good idea. Anyone with practical experience care to comment (in particular, on durability), before I part with the hard-earned?
I got a size bigger than I would normally getThey say to get gloves a size smaller than normal. Big mistake, they are so tight they make my hands cold.
Bought a pair of those gloves (five years ago) Leaked first time on, so returned them to shop who replaced them (certain amount of incredulity on their part). Replacement pair let in water (significant amount) immediately.
Rubbish. Wouldn't recommend them at all.
I use second pair for dirty work in cold weather. They are restrictive and leak badly.
I can't understand the manufacturer's claim of "waterproof", nor any of the praising testimonials .
I've got the "Outdoor" gloves and the "Winter" hat.Had a look on their website when this last came up, but they seem to have so many different ranges of gloves: http://www.sealskinz.com/UK/gloves and could not work out which to go for.
Perhaps it would be helpful if people could identify which glove has been successful or unsuccessful?
The socks work well in rubber wellies esp.
Aah, but which newspaper.Even a newspaper should stay dry inside rubber wellies.![]()
