Drilled the hole to a tight but not too tight fit. half way between two frames.
made a backing piece out of mahogany, drilled a hole in that.
glued in the backing piece with resorcinol (sic). I suppose epoxy is the same.
fitted the seacock so that the bit that came through the boat stuck out proud about 1/16". (blakes seacock).
driled holes for bolts. put through washer then wrapped some caulking cotton around the bolt and stuck bolt through the boat from the outside through seacock.
tightened up, tight but not ridiculously tight. i think its a matter of feel.
and bob was my uncle.
i panicked when the boat went in the water. but no problems, or at least not yet.
