Scuttlebutt\'s infamous annual x-channel cruise

Right, anyone upfrit?

Basic plot, go to France in the autumn. Probably Cherbourg, maybe St Vaast, for a Saturday night dinner and associated jollity.

Looking at my rusty tidetables, neapy weekends are 25th Sept, 6th Oct, 20th Oct.

Please let me know either in this thread or by pm if your interested going a) as a skipper (and if so whether wou might have spare bunks and how many), b) as crew or c) as a passenger (Hi Jimi). Oh, and any date preference - early days yet, I know, but maybe worth getting something in the diary.

And if one of you bi-guys out there wouldn't mind passing the invite onto our motorboating brothers and sisters....

Toodle pip.

Oooh, this sounds interesting. I wonder if I will be one of us or one of them (reverse as necessary) when the time comes?

I would be interested in joining as crew. My yacht is probably not big enough and definitely too far away. Ooops just noticed Moose post!
Erm! do I need to bring foreign phrase book?

If we're up for it do we to state the condition of various parts of the yacht, eg rudder, keel etc, so potential crew can feel confident in its abilities to arrive at the destination?

I'm up for it, either of the last 2 weekends preferably.
Room for 2 couples or 4 prepared to share in 2 cabins.
Based Haslar.

And all in perfect working order.
cheers

Great stuff !! Any weekend is OK for us at present, although things can obviously change. However, would prefer earlier (hopefully warmer!) weekends. Haven't spoken to SWMBO, but suspect she would like to come too.

Can offer one double or two single berths - would prefer at least one experienced crew if possible. PM me if you wish.

PS - IMO, all boats should be welcome as long as they don't exceed 8knots average SOG!

Traditionally its a handicap pursuit , TwisterKen sets off 18 hrs prior as the hare and we all pass him at St Catherines

Would be interested as crew if anyone had space for a Bi sometime mobo'er / Raggie! Couldn't do 6th Oct as its the OM's 70th Birthday celebrations but other weekends OK.
