And you've been reasonably supportive of them, so there's no hope of the rest of us getting answers. He's still posting under his Sarabande alter ego so he's still around.

Perhaps he's either acting (or should that be "not acting"?) under orders or has parted company from them?

Odd. So many promises to get back to us with answers. So very few answers actually materialise.

perhaps they have now got their hands on the "Operations Manual" for Rocna that was put together in 2010 by Bambury and read the section on "forum reply and tactics" and decided that silence is best while waiting for the spinner to spit out a reasonably , faintly believable, confusing answer that can easily be misread.

Just received the Manson supplied as an alternative to the Jan 2010 Rocna I returned to the chandlery. They were excellent in their willingness to change the Rocna even though I had drilled a hole through the shank to take my bow roller pin. I wont mention their name to avoid triggering a rush of returned anchors since I do not know what they are doing with the rejects.

TBH I'm not sure I've done the right thing or been bounced by the hysteria into making a change that in one respect ( the way it fits on the bow|) is distinctly worse. But its done now and no more wondering about the anchor build quality.

Or are we now going to get threads about bent Mansons?

Youen, if you telephone the main French importer of Rocna and explain to them that, rather than claim your right to a full refund under the French "Sale of Goods Act", you would prefer to exchange your Chinese Rocna for a CMP guaranteed Q620 Rocna when stocks arrive, I am sure that they will agree.

His alter-ego was online at 10:25 this morning so he is still around, maybe the Rocnaone account has expired again.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!

After all the hullabaloo about being more forthcoming, the promises of speedy and accurate information, the pledges to keep everyone up to date, Rocna have gone the way of their predecessors. A vow of silence.

Rocna; the trapist monks of the anchor business. ;);)

I am not sure that Holdfast/Rocna(1)/CMP et al and Trappist Monks should be used in the same sentence, or even the same paragraph.

Please be realistic, they are all at METS looking for neophytes to seduce.

Almost made it!

I've been monitoring the progress of this thread as it moved slowly down my Page 1 with no new posts. It reached the final line and I was predicting it to be on Page 2 this morning, but no, it surfaced again. What a saga, and apparently lots more to come.

Looks like it. I emailed the support at Rocna email address over a week ago asking them to confirm what my anchor was made from, Grant confirmed that it was a 420 but thought I should give them a chance..............nothing heard. We had no notification from Rocna1 about the new memo published last week............and the memo did nothing to address the issue around the different steel used and their intentions.

His alter ego is busily posting and yet no updates on these serious issues.........probably means one or a combination of 3 things IMO.............1) he has been told to be quiet 2) or is no longer in employ because of the poor performance so far or 3) CMP really do not really want to take seriously their obligations despite all the fine words.
