Hi Chaps
Happy new Year etc.
I am trying to find out some info on Rockley Park boating facilities, does any one know of them, is it as safe to keep a boat dry berthed their as anywhere? and is the journey time be to Hamble an easy one? generally speaking.
Thanks.

Depends what you mean by facilities. The dry stack is in a lockable compound. They launch and retrieve for you. Looking at Rockley and Poole Boat Park, I'd rather use Poole.

As far as going to the Hamble. Not a difficult trip from Poole.

All I wan't at the moment is a safe place for the boat, not to worried about chandlers etc at the moment, however I will try Pool to see what they are like, thanks for your advise.

Give Geoffs a PM. He'll fill you in on Poole Boat Park. PBO also keep their rib there.

and I have kept my boat at Rockley for the last 4 years.................
they have some more work to do but are now making progress on the racking/launching.
no comparison with Poole Boat Park who have a much more structured setup, better holding pontoons etc
Cobbs have excellent racking and facilities as well
The Hamble is a nice run from Poole in good conditions but around 60 mile round trip - you will be burning a lot of fuel/money if you are petrol and if the conditions change the trip back can be eventfull. If you know you want to go there why not base the boat up river there?
