I would like to thank those who replied to my other post grp opinions, I am still confused as to why its ok to build new in this manner but not with old. However I could do with some expert advice and this really needs some one to see the boat. The problem is that I and the old girl live in deepest darkest Lincolnshire, near Boston in fact. Having made enquiries locally it seems that there are no wise men to be found in this area, does any one know of such a person within a sensible distance that may be able to see the boat and offer the detailed advice that I need.
Thanks in anticipation.

The easiest way to understand the difference is not to think of the new boat as a wooden boat covered in glass but as glass boat with a wooden core. It is totally sealed on both sides. Only the resin is exposed to the outside world.

Hope that helps. Drop an email to me andy@classicsales.co.uk if you want to have a chat about the boat over the phone.

Don't know if your circumstances allow, but if you're afloat/seagoing and can get round to Yarmouth or Lowestoft, Norfolk is awash with splendid yards dealing expertly with wooden boats. Could suggest at least three people. Get in touch if this idea is any damn use to you whatsoever...
