Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with my Aquafresh AF600 AC Watermaker. The Clairtronic 5041 transformer in the control box seems to have burned out after a voltage problem. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding an exact new replacement for this transformer. Has anyone had experience with replacing this component or know where I might be able to purchase a compatible replacement?

Additionally, if anyone has a second-hand control box for the Aquafresh AF600 AC or knows where I might find one, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Best regards,

Clairtronic is (was) a well known transformer manufacturer but it seems that the company has been wound up.
Transformer details are here: Clairtronic PDF

There is an RS item that looks almost identical. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-transformers/1213858?gb=s
It is 30VA instead of 24VA and one of the pin spacings is 15mm instead of 16mm but you could probably bend the pins enough to fit, Full measurement details are on the RS datasheet.
You might find it is a standard size and there are other suppliers.

Good luck with your repair.
It looks like a standard size as I think these at 24VA and 30VA are available from CPC

You will have to check the dimensions on the data sheet.
You will probably find some other useful stuff from CPC to make up to free delivery.

I don't know your electronic experience but to get the old transformer off the board you need to remove all the solder from all the pins. Solder wick braid is probably best to remove the old solder unless you have access to a vacuum desoldering station.
