Hi All,
After our first season of owning a 21ft Sports Cruiser, we have just taken it out of its marina berth to go hard-standing for the Winter.
We were caught in the "should we/shouldn't we" anti-foul at the beginning year. In the end we decided not to anti-foul to avoide performance degredation with the intention of pulling her out of the water every few weeks for a wash down.
However, like all best laid intentions we didn't do it often enough and had a complete covering of build up below the water-line when we lifted her this week.
We have removed most of barnicles etc. using a high-power jet wash and we are now left with a hardened "film" of residue across the entire hull.
I would be interested in both product recommendation and "techniques" for removing this without damaging the gel coat or scraping - if possible?
Thanks,
Pierre.
p.s. Probably leaving her trailered next year.
