hi,

I have Trintella IIIA, build 1973. For stearing VETUS hydraulic helmpump HT20 and Raymarine EVO 200, Hydrualic Pump Type 1.

I don't have non-return valve so wheel is moving all the time. When I'm in bad seas, the autopilot doesn't work as it should, it just reports an error. I guess I have to mount Raymarine Double Pilot Check Valve? That only the cylinder moves and not the steering wheel. Have any of you ever had similar problems? Am I just mounting, or do I have to consider the pressure in the pipes?

Thx
Dimitrij

Where you have either twin hydraulic steering as I have or a auto pilot pump you must have pilot operated check valve on both sides if each pump inlet and outlets other wish the oil flow will turn the wheel and not pass to the cylinder and so lose the effective of the steering

The vetus technical data will show you how
