I've checked your recent messages. Thanks for your info, unfortunately I'm not quite as electronically savvy as you two, I did initially suspect it to be a poor connection, but where to start. I didn't want to mess around unneccesarily and maybe dig myself into a deeper hole. I'll shall look to the echo sounder 1st. On the radio side the reception is definitely poorer and needs additional squelch to over come the interference when the instruments are on. The possibility of deterioration in the co-ax was also a thought.
Whilst on the suject I did look at connecting the data box NMEA to the GPS Chart plotter which is within 500mm I was curious as to why it was not done before by the previous owner as there are 2 NMEA in/outputs on the plotter. Any thoughts on pitfalls would be appreciated.
