couldn't agree more with both of you!
I consider myself relatively inexperienced on it too having only fitted it last year. However I went out a couple of times with the screen covered by it's sun block and a couple of spotters in exactly the same way I learnt to fly on instruments many years ago. That plus having it permenantly on through the winter and I reckon I can just about interpret it.
Also different for a mobo as I never leave the helm when the boat is underway ever so am always interpreting the instruments against the surroundings.
In many ways radar is also easier to interpret when travelling at 20knots than at 3-5 too.
