can sombody please explain to me..WHY DO BOATS HAVE THERE RADA GOING WHEN PASSING THOUGH SHEPPERTON LOCK ON THE THAMES IN CLEAR FINE DAYTIME WEATHER??

hmm, does seem a bit overcautious. I can't believe it's to wind you up. However, imho everyone shd use radar lot more than they do, best every time they go out, so to be super-good at using it in fog. Though mebbe bit excessive to have it at all if permanenetly on the thames...

Re: Not radar, cocktail stirrer <NM>

I actually bought it after seeing strapped on to the swim platform of a boat in Poole Harbour. Seems like a good way of getting around to shop, but at 70kg, it won't float. Better chance than the other bike, though...

Re: monkey bike

It's nota monkey bike is it, it's a bit newer/bigger?. But do the handlebars fold, can it take a passenger, wot engine size and of course, wottle it do mister?

Re: monkey bike

well spotted, Sherlock. Nope, it's a Suzuki Intruder Volusia - 800cc and about a ton five tops, two up. SWMBO extracted a conservatory as a concession for me buying said toy, and conservatory has now grown into a full blown extension...

Re: rada(r)

My Dad might beable to help you with this one. He once got asked at Caversham lock if he really needed to have radar on the Thames by a jogger with extremely laughable stick legs looking like forrest gump. I'll either leave it up to your imagination his reply or he can tell you himself, not on the forum though!
