Problem getting up on the plane

[ QUOTE ]
.....Interesting though in that others with the same engine size and heavier boats aren't struggling (albeit with different hull designs and legs).

Longer waterline, better lift .... % extra hull in water is less, therefore % extra friction is less, % weight increase is less ......hence not that big difference....

Suspect prop selected for top end, not load ... Speak with dealer and try a different prop & be prepared to loose top end, for low end torque. Have seen this before and props make big differences in boat behaviour ... bigger differences as hull length reduces..

Thanks, I've tried that site today but I need to check the drive ratio, off the top of my head I can't remember if it's 1.47 or 1.62. Both of them chuck up the Vengeance prop but again, I'll need to confirm all the numbers to see which one I've got. From the comments on here though the common theme as I first suspected is it looks like the wrong prop's fitted.

Considering all the data you provided, the "lose weight" suggestion remains the most sensible one, imho...
Overall, your boat seems correctly tuned for her optimal performance.
Anyway, if your focus is on wakeboarding with heavy load, you might consider shortening the prop; just from 23" to 21" should do the trick, and I bet you would NOT loose any of those 50kts, considering that the engine is rated for more than the 4500 RPM which you mentioned.
Otherwise, if you're really looking for hard-core accelerations, stick one of these props on it and be prepared for amazing results.

Are you getting the revs!! Are you getting back pressure!!
Have you hit your prop!! Are your trim tabs right down or faulty!!Have you checked you throttle cable is opening the fuel pump to maximum!!If in cardiff bay have you checked for the mussels on the hull(not the eating ones) is there black smoke when accelerating.........Good Luck
