Anyone tried to dye (change the colour) of their canopy?

Renovo do a canopy dye to help rejuvenate. I think it's intended for fabric car tops. We used it ine year on our old canopy (it was in a rough condition)
We endeavoured to make a good job of it but the only reasonnit was acceptable was because of how bad it was when we started.
To summarise I'm not sure its a good idea. But if you're starting from a low point......well there's not much to lose.

Ive done it but only same colour to freshen it up. Worked well with the renovo stuff. You could probably go black on any colour

I have had great results from Renovo Dark Blue Dye on faded pale blue sprayhood and other fabric work on my small yacht. It tends to stiffen the fabric a bit so be aware of that. Also stains plastic, which can be removed with a lot of cleaning, so don't flick it about when brushing on. Best done indoors if possible. Dries overnight. Doesn't seem to fade after about 10 years. I did finish off with Fabseal (?) waterproofer but am not sure that was necessary. Best to do a price comparison if buying as it varies alot.
