My builders certificate quotes 8 feet 2 tenths as depth so I suppose deduct draft of 3feet 3 inches and you will be about there. Sorry to be vague but I never had reason to find out and I have just looked at the 1999 and 2000 year brochures and neither quote air draft.

But about five feet would appear correct but don't depend on that.

Pete, something which occured to me as being usefull as a precurser to all buying guides would be to ask see all service records held and all documentation for boat so as one does not spend money on surveys and viewing sessions to find that a vital peice of paperwork is missingwhen it comes to doing the deal.

I am suprised how many owners really do not know what they should have, and some new dealers dont really think it that important as long as they have thier money and customer often thinks an invoice is sufficient.

Chris,

Your figures don't sound right to me. Even I am taller than 5 ft and standing on the pontoon I would no way be looking down at the top of the radar arch!

So I checked the figures for a Targa 40 which are as follows:-

Transport height: 12ft 10in (I presume drives are up)
Draft (drives down): 3ft 2in
Therefore the height above water line would appear to be about 9ft.

The brochure also quotes height above waterline: 13ft 2in (including masts) which I assume could be lowered if necessary.

I had a hard night last night and should have avoided posting until completely sober. The figures from the builders are probably 8 foot 2 tenths as air draft on the copy of the certificate I still have, but that will be net of anything other than radar arch As you say though, there is 6 foot of headroom at least under arch

If the information is still needed I will measure it tomorrow on the one next to me in Poole

Thanks. That would really help. On the brink of buying one and I've suddenly got all these new questions! Your review was really useful in my early stages of selection!
