Bought a Jean P32 - 2005 (pre facelift) - over the WE subject to Surv and ST. We are very pleased with her and we think she will suit our us perfectly over the next couple years. Looked at 36's (ref all the advice given here) but the 32 suited our budget and provides the room we need - only two of us + the occasional grand child!

The Survey and Sea Trial is due very soon so what advice would any P32 owners give on bad points to look out for on these models? Any particular things that are know to be poor or detiorate badly? The KAMD300s on board appear to have been correctly serviced including VC's and be done by reputable agents.

As always any veiws, comments, advice welcome....

P32

Sure did. We had a 2008 and had a good season with her before we decided to go bigger. We generally spent every weekend on her throughout the year and that is what ended up pushing us to upgrade. Ours had the D4's so can't help much on engines. I don't like to rely solely on surveys, so look it over good yourself. Keep in mind, my views relate mostly to not only what we liked, but what in the end influenced us to move up in size, but I think against the competition, she is a very solid option.

What we liked: Good sea boat, feels bigger than it is; flybridge has decent room although seating positions are low. Cockpit and engine access ok. Access to foredeck good as it has an imbalanced side decks. Heat is a must have IMHO even if you plan to take her out for the winter. Both sleeping cabins decent size although no ensuite. Good visibility from fly and inside helms. Good value and resale...we sold ours for a good price in 6 days.

What we did not like; We found both the head and galley too small. I am 6 ft and struggled to use the head comfortably...also a wet room so a mess every time you shower. As we used it a lot, also found the salon to be a little cramped especially if you have guests. We also wanted a boat with a bit more speed.

I think that the P32 is the best boat Jeanneau makes...don't like the bigger models, although I think if we had bought the 36 to start with we might have made it work. Good value, reasonably comfortable and good resale. Best of luck, I am sure you will enjoy it. Tom.

Ive worked on a 36 quite a bit, they go really well with the 63p 370s in so kad 300 should be great on the smaller boat, make sure the manual is in english as the one I have to work in is in German! Good allrounder for its size.

Prestige are great motor boats and fantastic value for money. we have had our 36 since 2002 and only done 275 hrs but it remained like new, gloss gel coat and all that.

Just trading in for new mobo so if you want a 36 like new, at trade in price as its to be a quick deal ( believe me its low) give me a pm

Yes subject to Survey and Sea Trial. Should all be complete and back in our home berth by the end of the month - can't wait....

Cheers Mate! Any tips (other than the usual things) for ownership/use/wintering? Did you have KAMD300s? if so, what sort of speed/rpm did she cruise at best and how many LPH?

Hi Ripster,
Mine had D4 260s in, so you have got plenty of power, I used to cruise at 20-22 knots all day long with no effort, topped out at 28 (going down hill). handled well in some big seas, always felt safe(ish) even in a F7 over the bridge and over the Flybridge.
Great accommodation for 2 and 4 for the week end.
Easy to berth, but you have to watch the wind, just do it like you mean it...
Watch the anodes, mine used to eat them, but this might have been because where I berth on the Hamble.
Nothing ever broke, just spent a fortune equipping her, then I sold her (like you do), not really sure why, just the lure of going bigger. miss her a bit really.....
PM me if you want any more info.
enjoy....
Roy
