I had my boat lifted a few days ago at Sealift, which is now in Gosport. I have been a big fan of this method of lifting since I first tried it last year -- it's cheaper, faster, and more gentle, and the Sealift guys give terrific service.
Well, I serviced and greased my Autoprop, changed anodes, and attempted unsuccessfully to change the oil in my bow thruster. In the confusion, I left out the setscrew (!) from the propeller, which I discovered in my pocket (!!) at the pub later. A classic "oh, what an idiot I am" moment.
The next morning, the Sealift guys lifted me again, kindly squeezing me in before their first lift of the day, and I popped the screw back in. Because of the speed of this method, I was out of the water and back in again in about 15 minutes, although my boat displaces 22 tonnes and has 2.35m draft. And guess what -- the Sealift guys refused to take any money for the remedial lift.
Wow, what fantastic service. Sealift is a real class act. Most highly recommended!
