I guess that’s. Why there are no marina in Bradford as enough foul smells from other sources. Some might remember the national & provincial building society who had their HO there before there takeover, not a pleasant bs to visit I recall.

I think it would be worth enquiring of Hythe Sailing Club when it is open to visitors, then mooring alongside their Pontoon about 1 hour before HW and the Second HW time would allow time to lunch and shop in Hythe Village. I used to visit regularly but beware of being late back because the last pontoon mooring position dries out.
We've never been fortunate to arrive with the catering in residence but catering in the village is OK ,and you need the password/code to get back into the Club gates, from a member.
A very friendly membership and worth a visit , as also Marchwood S.C.
Our Draft was 4'3"( 1.3 M) Fin Keeled . They may have a vacant temporary mooring if you ask.
Many years ago I spent a night dried out alongside that pontoon in a Wayfarer with a boom tent. They were very friendly and hospitable.

I've enjoyed catching up with the thread and its diversions. Not competing with Concerto but that is the furthest north I have ever sailed :) - we made it to the flesh pots of Southampton and Ocean village. The contrast with the top of the Beaulieu river is marked but was enjoyable. Spotted the Moire light before anchoring off Netley for lunch. We had had a brilliant beat from Beaulieu river entrance late morning, sparkling blue skies and sunshine and a decent size swell from the east and buckets of wind I would have put at F5 gusting 6, (but Bramblemet is more conservative)- whatever it was it was glorious for about an hour or so and then greyed over once inside Southampton water. After 3 nights anchoring/on a mooring and a pretty average forecast I opted to keep Marchwood and Eling for another day, but at least now I have a clue what is up Southampton Water. And cheers for the pik Dan, we did head under the Itchen bridge for a little look - there's plenty to see up there.
