Poole Harbour waterproof chart

I used to pullout chart from one of the yachting mags and used a laminator with A3 sized pouches. You can print off extracts from all sorts of online sources including OS maps.A bit expensive I know, but once bought, useful for all sorts of boaty things eg tidal atlases you can write on in marker pen, tide tables, checklists, radio schedules etc etc

There is a very thin type of laminating available, which has a matt surface that can be written on. The encapsulated documents remain foldable. It isn't a DIY process, and regrettably I can't recall the company that does it. I could find out from former colleagues, probably, if anyone is interested enough to PM me. But it is certainly the "Rolls-Royce" solution, and would probably cost more than the charts being laminated.

Another substance that I have heard works this way on admiralty charts is WD40.... Although Nikwax probably smells better, unless your an engineer!
