i will have to look very hard to find a current laptop with 800 X 480 Resolution.., but when I do, I will do a comparison!

Of course the laptop is designed for a different purpose...

But, it turns out that they are excellent for passage planning

Given the low resolution of charts, I’m not sure what benefit high res screens would have. They usually either work badly in sunshine or overheat due to over bright backlights. They also use lots more power.

Larger is nice, but 9-12” is absolutely fine for a plotter. We use it alongside Navionics on a phone for planning as the phone is convenient to browse about in the evenings.

The Echosounder and sailor VHF have both been removed ....

My Onwa KP39A is where the Echosounder was .... a new SH DSC VHF is where the Sailor VHF was ...
