When it's 0250 and the sea state is rough, it's wise to sit on the end of your bunk. This also allows thinking time to figure out how you are also gonna put on a fleece of some kind, full foul weather gear...salopettes are so fun...and a life jacket etc etc whilst not being late on watch.

Of course, once you get there and its raining and cold, you have some hours to wonder why you are doing all this in the first place......
