Pint of Bass

Stick it in the glass whole and tickle your nose. Make sure it's tail first otherwise you may get spiked. No need to liquidise- just swallow hard.

I dunno who first called them logos, but the word is an abbreviaton of logotype . This word emanates from the ancient Greek logos = word (+ type) It comes about because logotype is a single piece of type which will print the design or emblem used as a trade mark.
I am full of quite useless, but sometimes interesting, knowledge!

When are we going to have some of the interesting stuff then? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Did you know that the Bass logo [red diamond] is the oldest logo in the world ?

[/ QUOTE ]Wayay... surprised at that, but must believe you. Those silly religious buggers that think a fish is a logo.... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Found other refs through Google which confirm your bold statement, but also found this....

"Frequent finds indicate that the VAR countermarks on As coins of Augustus and Tiberius originate, among others, from the region of Nijmegen and Tiel. The logo refers to Lucius Varus, a commander who supposedly also invested in his troops. The fact that coins exist with the portrait of Varus suggests that the Nijmegen region has always been kind of a world of its own. This coin shows the Varus countermark which consists of interleaved V, A and R. As far as I am aware of, this is the first logo ever found in the latin alphabet"

So, Bass predates this period in Roman history..... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
