Re: PETERS OPAL BA Peters - BMF leadership

They organise both Southampton and London Boat Shows, provide legal advice to marine companies, organise export missions, training, support to british marine companies. Plus lots more.

So the BMF's there as a business lobby group - nice for them.

Sounds like they do f all for common boaters.
Strikes me as odd as there was an article in one of the mags last month (might have been ST) that an alternative London boat show at Earls Court was going to hurt BMF. This was considered a bad thing as quote BMF supports us all unquote.

Personally, don't give a toss for BMF.

It was quite a strong article wasn't it. Certainly not sitting on the fence on the issues. Interesting that the editor of that magazine now works for the Excel Boatshow. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

What a real bummer! Can't contribute anything but good wishes and hope you manage to retrieve something from the situation. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Sorry to hear of your position.

It will be of little comfort to you but may be of general use to know that when I bought an HR via Transworld I paid a small amount (I recall 2.5%) for the bank to hold all the stage payments against delivery of the finished boat. These sad events highlight the need to protect ourself whn entering into high value transactions, If I recall a similar problem arose when Westerly had one of it's periodic crisis.

Best wishes
