I'm buying a boat equipped with a pair of Perkins T6354.4m 200hp diesels. Main snag is that someone has removed the starters and alternators and they've gone AWOL. Does anyone have a parts list I could buy off them, or can anyone advise me on the relevant make/model of starters and alternators? Serial numbers for the engines are:

TU70025U688090J
TU70025U656960H

If these are the same as the earlier HTs that I've worked on they are 24Volt and isolated earth return so are particular to the marine engine eg. probably expensive. I'd suggest talking to GMS in Medway, Sun Coast found them quite reasonable, also some of the big diesel marine specialists. For some s/h ones.
Normally a few places in the back of Boat Mart.

<font color=blue>T6.354 & HT6.354 are surely 145hp or 175hp. They will be 24 volt. In essence they are from the same base unit that powers the old London Transport Buses and Massy Ferguson Tractors. I suggest you contact Marlec Marine in Ramsgate as they are Perkins dudes and carry tons of old spares.

"145 or 175hp"

That's what I initially thought. These are apparently "Range 4" engines, produced in the early eighties rated at 200hp. I'd never heard of them until about a week or two ago. There are plenty of references to them on the www, but I can't seem to find the info I need up about starters and alternators. I'm sure they will be something like Lucas or Bosch or what have you, and if I can find out what make/model I will be able to get quotes from more places than the obvious choice of Perkins-Sabre. We all like to save a bob or two if we can.

Thanks for the tip about Marlec, Byron, I'll give them a tinkle after the weekend.
