I have a Perkins 4108 engine which has been marinised. I need to know what other cars/vans this starter was fitted to so that I can get one from the local breakers to trade in for a reconditioned starter. The starter is a Lucas 12v, 13 teeth on the pinion.

I'd ask your reconditioner how much the surcharge is. The surcharge for mine was £25 which I didn't think was too bad. I didn't have to scour the scrappies and I still have a spare which I can keep for parts. The scrappie might have charged me £30 anyway.

Failing that try giving Lancing Marine a call. They should know what vans etc the motor was from. (Might have one to sell??)

Cheers

Not a huge amount of road vehicles used it, principly the Ford Transit of the 70's, more common as a generator and building site power plant. I'd try a large plant suppliers. If you get stuck my brother uses one up at Waltham Abbey, I'll find out who..
