Nice story Richard,
Having been based in Porthmadog for some time, your account raised a wry smile -particularly your tangle with them blimmin sand banks that creep up under you when you least expect it.
The great thing is that the channel approach changes every year, so woe betide anyone that gets to thinking they've got it sussed 'cos last years straight run-in will be this years double dog leg!!
As a service to the Porthmadog boating fraternity I have been known to sit overnight on a sandbank carefully watching and plotting the shiftyness of the sands /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
We're going to be down there tomorrow night for the weekend and sounds like we wont have the pleasure of meeting you as you'll probably be tucked up safely back in PD by then.
Fair winds!
Alan
