Hi.

I need to transport a westerly pageant a few hundred miles by road. Does anyone know of anywhere I can hire a trailer that can be used on a slipway to get it out of the water? or is it a case that I would have to get the boat lifted out the water on to a trailer?

You might be able to get it onto a flatbed trailer, but I'm sure the hirer would take a very dim view of you dunking his trailer!
It may be safest, and easiest, to use a crane. A lorry mounted hiab would easily lift a Pageant, you may be able to hire one for about £100-£150.

This is a good route to take and some one with a decent flat bed and Hiab works well . We have a company in Edinburgh who regularly moves boats West East etc up here at reasonable costs. Ask around in your area. They can lift the boat from the water and place it on the flat bed at convenient slips or docks.
