I couldn't agree with you more! A few years ago the same ribs had they gps and sounders cut out of the fibreglass console with an angle grinder.

The club is situated in nice holiday resort with fairly low crime compared to other Towns in north Wales. It's just the club is next to a night club and the main road into
town. Usually the ribs are hidden away behind a 12 foot Wall but at the moment they are on the grass in full view because the trailers are getting serviced (probably a good thing, they might have completely gone if still on trailers).

Shipping containers are the easiest solution. Our small Humber would fit in one. But council will say no..Victorian town and all that,

Our sailing club has painted the engines blue and yellow, yes they look awful, but its a start.

You may want to look at hiding some sort of tracking device on the engine..

Garmin claim upto a month of battery life from these:

That is exactly what I was thinking off! And the batteries can be charged up or replaced. I wonder where it could be hidden in the outboard? Air filter box? Might need a clear view of the sky:confused:

They sell them to attach to animals, if you look at the picture, its very small.

It has the option of a power lead, so you could wire it up to the RIBs starter battery, and put a solar panel somewhere to keep the battery ticking over.

Most GPS will work quite happily through GRP so I can't see a problem with it being tucked inside the engine near the top. It is IPX7 rated, so pretty hardy.

They describe the GPS as being high sensitivity..
