My o/b is fixed in a well and in spite of antifouling the prop and leg, gets horribly fouled up, preventing it running properly. Someone suggested fitting a removable bag of some sort over it while not in use - any ideas?

I have experimented with a large bag (tarpaulin) under the entire boat. It is brilliant at stopping growth (and this is in a high growth tropics area). It stops the sun getting to the weed (light can reflect off the bottom and sideways through the water) and it tends to concentrate any toxins from old A/F. You can even put in a little swimming pool chlorine although I never did. The down side was the trouble involved in putting it under the boat after sailing. So your idea is brilliant if it is too much trouble to lift the O/B out of the water (a far better option) however it may be difficult to get the bag around the leg. It doesn't have to keep the water out just a reasonable seal to stop water movement in and out. good luck will
