Outboard flushing

I’m sorry to say that there is very little flushing except at the end of the season. The boat is on a non walk ashore pontoon with no water. The only plus is that at least on an ebb tide, the water is barely salty. I’ll replace the impeller this winter because I can, though.
I do quite a lot of boating in Scotland and one of the locals told me that even on the sea locks particularly after rain the top few feet of the water is fresh. I found that very interesting

Salt water is heavier, so unless they get well mixed by turbulence, the fresh has a tendency to form a layer on top. A useful effect for my outboard maybe. We’ll be out of the water soon, I’ll chemically flush it then. I daresay it’s abuse will shorten it’s life. Nothing I can do except have a finger berth in the marina instead. Which costs, annually, over and above my existing berth, about the same as a new outboard every year. I’m guessing you’d do the same sum as me, and carry on.

Apologies for the lack of interaction, thanks everyone for your replies. Having spoken to a Yamaha main dealer I have been told that with my outboard, a 2021 F100LB, water will not come out of the tell tale when I am flushing using the hospipe connector and the engine off. I had thought that when the Yamarin dealer I bought the boat from, flushed it after the boat test, water was coming out of the tell tale, but with water coming out of so many holes and me being new to outboards I must be mistaken. Glad to know there is nothing wrong, but that thanks again all.

A sea lock is the one allowing entry to a canal from the sea. Is it really a problem not to spell the word you mean correctly?
Yes it is but I am sure you wont even try to understand. I have visited the Lakes in Scotland many times and enjoyed them

Is there such a thing as a salt water lake?
To be honest I am not too concerned about that sort of thing or indeed if a person calls a lake a lock, Loch or Water. It is not terribly important but I know there are several lakes in Scotland

There are indeed but I don't think there are any salt water ones. We have a lot of sea lochs, I was surprised to be told England doesn't have anything
like that at all. If you did what would you call them?

Not at all picky, spelling a word incorrectly at best shows a level of ignorance and at worst confuses the meaning of the statement.

If you don’t realise you are being picky you have quite a problem. By the way which part of the top part of the UK do you think you are in charge of or have rule over

So everyone on here that understood what he ment is ignorant...you're well out of order and insulting.
