Any views on purpose made Salt Dissolving tablets for annual fresh water flush of outboard? Came with the boat. Go in a little blue canister connected to the flushing hose - Do they give a gentle clean out or are they more likely to cause crud to detach and block the water ways in the engine?

I don't think they are very strong. It's more to dispel the salty water to help prevent build up and corrosion.
Rydlyme would properly attack existing build up.
I use anti salt as often as possible in my outboards and Jetski.

I agree with Boaty_Pete. If you have them, use them in any case as it won’t damage the internal components. A good practice is alway to flush an outboard for at least 15 minutes with fresh water after every use.
Rydlyme is a top product but can be expensive. Maybe use it once a year when the boat is on the yard. I watch a channel called Born Again Boating (please see below ) that has all sort of videos related to outboards and more.

Dont washing powders have anti-lime scale, chelating agents, anti-corrosion ingredients and such?

Planning to use some to flush my inboard in the next few days, so if theres a good reason not to I'd like to know what it is.

Laundry powders don't have much chemistry to counter calcium build-up. The better dish washing detergents have both lime scale and corrosion inhibitors.

You can get Furnox in various forms ... for outboards - use the one made for Alloy / Aluminium .....

Furnox is the chemical put into Domestic boiler systems (Central Heating). Its far cheaper than 'Marine' products !!
