Outbd. fuel connectors.

Johnson/Evinrude were, in many (most?) cases, compatible as were Mercury/Mariner but not Mariner/Johnson or Mercury/Evinrude.

Will it have the same fuel pipe connector as Mariners?

[/ QUOTE ] I am almost absolutely and completely sure it wont.

I think Cliff says it won't as well!

Beware there are some connectors that look the same as the Johnson/Evinrude one but they are slightly different. Slightly smaller IIRC. I think they may be Yamaha ones.

So, therefore make sure you get a connector for an Evinrude if you are buying one.

I assume the engine you are getting is not a twin line type that pressurises the fuel tank.

There have been some variations since 2000 but up to then they have been the same part and not a bayonet connector but whether any are now the same as Mariner ones I can't say

What year/model number is this engine

Another point to bear in mind is that the pattern parts you buy in skin packs from chandlers are a third of the price of the manufacturer's parts for a good reason.
They are mainly crap. The "O" rings fall out or twist and the clips don't locate properly. I had no end of trouble before I got my wallet out and bought the genuine article.

When you have the bits to connect your outboard to your existing tank you will need hose clips to secure the hose on the connector. One favoured clip widely stocked (looks like a circle with a pair of ears that you squeeze with side cutters) works well if you get stainless ones but many chandlers have plated mild steel ones without knowing - so take a magnet when you shop.

No idea till i get it but its old

[/ QUOTE ] then it will be type fitted for yonks (unless its pre-yonks) and as far as I know unique to OMC. Some OMC motors had the fuel line detachable from the tank as well.
