Oostende Vor Anker

Spirit is back in the water.
Here she is as she looked yesterday when we got her out of shed 2 and I'd finished getting her rig set up.
She's had a new respray, re epoxied capping rails and hull blasted and re epoxied, oh and a couple of big holes I dug in in the bow.
Not too shabby for a 1977 nic39.
All ready for Oostende.

Usual high quality HMS work there Javelin and I'm very envious of the bright coloured halyards!

Fair winds and a safe and enjoyable trip to all the ECF contingent.

Have some Moules for me :encouragement:

Thanks Javlin, looking forward to seeing her at the weekend. Just a couple more wires and we will be able to wake the whole river up when we leave...!

Can't wait to see the effect on her speed with the large holes you have made and the smoother hull.

The halyards were at the request of the boys, wanted something to liven her up! They chose them...

Sailorman she was indeed at Foxs, we purchased her after she had sat in the bottom yard for some time.

R U a Duval drinker
I'm afraid I'll have to correct you there: Duvel, not Duval.
But I appreciate that after a few Duvels the finer points of Dutch spelling may be lost.
And just another piece of advice if I may: do not restrict yourself to Duvel, there are any number of good beers to be tasted within 200 m of the harbour.

Looking very good, had a few sails on her many years ago (before she was blue!) back in the day when she was moored off Pin Mill.

I'm planning to leave either after work on Wednesday or first thing Thursday.
If we leave in the evening and arrive in the early hours whats the score in terms of where should we head.
Into the Yacht club and raft up or should we be booking something?

Montgomery Dock ( RNSYC) any where you fancy.

i had a slight set back this afternoon, home tomorrow to inspect the 2 old sails. This one now in the car with the cars removed ready to reuse on a new main

That doesn't look good. Although you might not need it as the weather is not looking good for the crossing. Weather online is suggesting not a breath of wind!

Hence my earlier question about fuel. I'm guessing that it's still not available at Ostend. Where is the nearest supply?
