Not pulling revs

My port engine does not want to pull over 2000 revs the stb one is ok and goes up to the usual
2400 max. Second to last time out doing 2000 only I thought I saw some white smoke so stopped
went into reverse to see if it was a snagged prop. I then seems to work as it reved to 2400 shortly after.
However on saturday it was back to 2000 max, which suggests maybe it was'nt a snagged prop
The gauges are ok engine temp, engine oil & gearbox oil. Any suggestions.

Clive I know you recently double dosed with Soltron and altho it breaks all the bug down it does not break all the other crap (most of it that is soft but not rust sand etc) that can appear in your tank that could have been stuck there for ages and may now bw jammed in your filters. Check your filters and let me know if they are ok.

Re: Which is m.p. the right answer

If you'd have fouled a prop or shaft, you'd have lots of BLACK smoke when trying to rev it over 2K. Same goes for a blocked air-intake which get's overlooked often with these perky's
