Need some help and advice.
I have Bavaria 49 and have had haven't used for sometime ( Two Months ) and when i recently started it and put it into gear forward all seems perfect bust when i engage astern there is a thumping noise i have had a diver down and all is clear can anybody help me as to what to do.
Just to note when i finished using it last time all was fine.
The cutlass bearing was changed last year the shaft was checked for straightness and all seemed good.
I am having the boat lifted tomorrow so what would i expect to see or is this a gear box problem or the usual marine mechanic failing to fill the gear box ??????
