LED back lighting and floor lighting (both dimmable), table wrapped and colour changed some trim pieces. Still got to do the edging around the hob/ sink area

I was going to change the upholstery to dark grey but now I’m not so sure! Looks a bit Nordic I think. What does the forum think?

Even started on the outside peeling off 4 miles of strips ?

Looking good Mr G. Personally the upholstery looks good the colour it is and the table is loads nicer, are you going to do the edging of the table?
Best of luck with the rest of the work - a man after my own heart - if you can do it yourself, do it, why pay someone else and if you don't know how to do it Youtube it :)

not sure I like the cushions tbh, but cannot pinpoint what I don't like in them. I think it's just the fact that they refer to the 90s (if not earlier!) that I don't particularly like...
your call!

Thanks Vas. I know what you mean. I’ll have a little think on it. Plenty of other things to be getting on with for now.

look you are well experienced in all that, you know what to do:
work on all the rest, get the boat to the state you like doing all the nonflexible changes and then at the end of the process, decide if all the other necessary work blends nicely (or acceptably!) with the upholstery, if not replace then, not now!

Are you fixed yet?
I think so Googler. Missed our Easter trip though. The mechanic finished the day before we had planned to leave at 11.30pm, exactly 3 months from the day it was stripped. He left me with a new leak! Seal from thermostat housing to water pump was pinched and pissing coolant so we took a road trip instead. I just couldn't be arsed looking at it at the time. I since refitted but it is a bugger to line up so I had to remove two bolts off the blanking plate/lifting ring plate in order to get the tstat housing back on. Will need rectified properly at some stage.

Have yet to run at WOT (we are up a river) but we are moving again and currently leak free. Will know more when I get out to sea later this month!

fingers crossed for you.

bit confused about the plate. Is it all back together properly? The lifting eye plate acts as a blank for coolant in the head and secures the t stat housing.

Not properly. Bodged currently. Need to refit the housing as only 2 bolts holding the blanking plate currently. Tbh, I didn't know what was behind that plate, I was experimenting! Surprised it's not leaking to be honest!

I think i read somewhere about removing a bit of material from the back of the housing so it doesn't foul the bolts I removed.

Every time I fitted the housing I had to put the pipe that goes into the exhaust manifold into the tstat housing first. That approach lead to the pipe leaking as soon as I filled it with coolant. Tried that twice. Removed the bolts from the blanking plate and that allowed me to put the pipe in the exhaust manifold first and then attach the tstat housing after. No leaks from the pipe with that approach. Hope this makes sense.

Such a ball ache with running proper fused power…..joining hoses. Took an age!

Still…..mostly there now. Just bought the electric base unit and reused the nice China bowl. Ended up quite good value. I’ll re use the lid and spray it. New tap and a good clean up will see it finished!

Another good day!

Heads finished

4AACC8C1-C10B-4E88-831C-7EF495BF28DA.jpeg

I think it’s come up well for a tiny compartment.

Fresh water system commissioned for the first time in god knows how long. Good dose of sanitising fluids, tap filters cleared 3 times and great pressure. Calorifier element works a treat so even got hot water now! Result.

Last interior job is new carpet and that’s it.

Cockpit is good clean up and teak flooring which I’m starting this week and helm seats to go in last.

My main focus is now on the outside. As per Bruces stalker…..I’ve started removing the antifoul and have removed most of the decals which where over the gelled in strips. The upper strips are a combo of decal and paint with the originals gelled in being the very bottom layer. It’s going to be a pain in the ass job. Rub it all down and get painting!

looks like the strips on the arch are all paint with white gel underneath so going to try and sand them out and polish the original arch gel coat up.

Shields need a good clean up too. No idea what they used but don’t think it’s antifoul I’ve ever seen before ?

Oh…..and a new cover is being made in Charcoal grey. Be ready in July ???

how many hours to remove 9letters and 20sqcm of a/f G.?
Longer than it should have! It’s 30 ft of decal before you get to the letters……twice for the red and the blue! ??

Been doing some more this evening….CC03BB1E-6A8A-4E77-B93C-2321DAC8709E.jpeg

First time using this stuff. its quite tricky as it wants to curl back ??

Bit of cleaning up to do round the edges but I think it’ll look pretty good once all down.

Thought I’d go central to the lifting latch….then failed ??

it’s pretty cheap stuff (but is actually very nice even closeup) so I’ll do it all and see how much it annoys me. Can always easily pull it up and do it again ?
