You are off to a great start. You might want to take the ECUs home with you. Rare as hens teeth at the moment.

So the expansion tank on my 25 year old caterham 7 was pretty grotty, so I removed it from the car, and filled it half full with those ceramic balls that are used in cooking, like theseWhat’s good for cleaning the insides of the expansion tanks?
How long did it take to get the engines out?Engines pulled today…went well! 1 hour start to on the lorry. Started tearing down too….all whilst stood up and drinking tea. It’s a revelation ?

there has been some very dubious work done by an “engineer”. I know all about this but it’s still beyond @BruceK standard bodging. That is a fibreglass covered sump due to “corrosion”. There is a mint 2nd hand one in a box next to it ? Love the sealant work too. That won’t leak clearly ?

some suspect wiring too

Love doing this indoors….and very please with my makeshift rolling engine pallets
Let the trying not to break stuff continue!
2 hours a side disconnecting everything. 1 hour of which was getting the stupid grey 8 pin plugs apart without breaking them (there’s a volvo tool of course)….then 1 hour to lift inc nattering and looking at the now infamous grp’ d sumpHow long did it take to get the engines out?

He seems to have missed his cueBoom?
Filled it with hot water (cap back on and bung in the bottom) and put a double dose of oxalic powder in. Gave it a good shake and left it for an hour. Drained rinsed and repeat, job done. Did leave it a tasteful shade of translucent antifreeze green but it matches the engineAce! I shall do that?
what did you do?
