Oh for God sake. Whats with you taking good quality classic boats and then bodging them to make a rude buck? How about a bit less bodging and a bit more using in the hopes you do a propper job this time? And why that boat of all boats? Of that age genre you're more of a Tony Danza kind of fella rather than Don Johnson. Should have got yourself a nice Fairline.

Says the man with a Formula! ???

This is one of Don Shead’s best ?

Got just about everything disconnected today ready for next week. Not much room in between them. Could be worse though…could be Formula level of access.

For those interested…these are the outer donuts in the transom shield. I’ve never seen them before. Bit of a leak one side I would say as there’s like a yellow (water in grease) line on the join. All donuts being replaced anyway

No yellow stuff

I'm sure that you don't need me to teach you how to suck eggs but...

As well as all of the stuff you've mentioned, for trouble free use....

Do the drives give a nice clunk when engaging gear? If not replace the clutch cones.
If you've got the engines out, rebuild the trim rams.
Check the sterndrive propshaft for grooves. Have them laser welded or whatever to make them smooth again.
Replace the gear cables.
With the engines out, replace the RPM sensors and check the flywheels for rust.
Consider replacing the throttle potentiometers.
Thoroughly clean all engine harness connectors.

If you want a remote battery isolator, Blue Sea do a really nice one.

what happens if you drop a spanner, or even worse a s/s tool or whatnot in the bilges? stays there till the engines are off and rattles about? blimey, that's tight!

is there enough space to remove heat exchangers, or it's also an engine out job? what about starters?

After a while he gets his own wind chimes as they roll about at anchor

blimey, that's tight!

Almost as tight as Roy's wallet when it's his shout.

is there enough space to remove heat exchangers,
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Stupid questions deserve stupid answers.

what about starters?

Probably best not to. Just run it into the ground and sell it to the next sucker.

You could change all those but you’d have to remove other bits on the way down. At least top access is good right to the transom ?

in many ways….better access than on my previous 38ft boat

Engines pulled today…went well! 1 hour start to on the lorry. Started tearing down too….all whilst stood up and drinking tea. It’s a revelation ?

there has been some very dubious work done by an “engineer”. I know all about this but it’s still beyond @BruceK standard bodging. That is a fibreglass covered sump due to “corrosion”. There is a mint 2nd hand one in a box next to it ? Love the sealant work too. That won’t leak clearly ?

some suspect wiring too

Love doing this indoors….and very please with my makeshift rolling engine pallets

Let the trying not to break stuff continue!
