When I bought my 35 ft boat in 1994 it was a big one but nowadays it's a small one. When pointing our boat out to people in Greek harbours we are almost inevitably the smallest there.
I never sailed in Greece... however if a 36 is the smallest in the harbour, now I understand all issues with Greece's National Debt

Indeed - all the things you don't find out until after the handover...

Another similarity - the heartache and expense when you end up with a project. At least a boat is easier, because you can do what you like with it, chopping the rot out of your spouse tends to be frowned upon
I hope your misses is not reading the forum, otherwise lets see who is going to be chopping what

Very few of them are Greek. Most non-Greek owners sailed there from farther afield, so in general they tend to be bigger. We have met several UK owners with 55 and 60 ft boats as their 'starter' boat.

Lots of knowledgeable folk certainly but sadly not all with the same knowledge on a topic but after a few years you learn to know whose views to value, sadly perhaps some nuggets of wisdom are not delivered with many softer skills however as a place to expand your knowledge of obscure topics it does add value to boating life even if more diverse topics don’t seem to be aired as much as previously. Belle do tell more of your vessel /prospective vessel as that will no doubt attract more insightful comments.
