@Parabolica I think they might be on the new industrial estate where we had covers made for the old P50. In a former life I was an industrial modelmaker, we were the interface between design and engineering. CNC was just starting to be a thing so I learned on traditional machinery where you had to account for backlash, then advanced to digital measuring. CNC was outsourced, the closes I came was a vinyl cutter which fascinated me.

I have been informed today that we've got 15, I say again 15 scatter cushions arriving from various sources and apparently more still need to be ordered. I am not happy at the thought of my nice clean boat being messed up but will try to bite my lip on the basis there may need to me more masculine purchases ahead....

Just realised I never posted up a photo of the tool kit. Better than a dozen cushions :)

Interesting, I am an Industrial Modelmaker !

Where were you back in the day, Synapse, ATOM, Space Models or somewhere like that ?

You're certainly better off selling Porkers that's for sure :)

Another industrial area is the former crew cabin. We never once used the crew cabin fitted to the P50 and I know everyone says you need a crew cabin for re-sale but I don't care. There's no point in having space for 1 person when the boat needs two people to operate on charter and I would much rather have a dedicated space for all the stuff we need for boat operation and front of house pleasantries for charter guests. I'm planing to approach a firm that do kits to fit out vans for some funky shelving. Watch this space.....

Good choice. People do say you need a crew cabin for resale but it's not true because if someone wants one it can be retrofitted, it's not a dealbreaker. They might bid you £10K less, but that will be the £10K you saved not having it in the first place.

I have known of similar instances but the buyers were advised to still have the main internal moulding fitted.
Just looked back at photos and see it was fitted to this boat.

St Albans then Synapse. I set up an architectural model making division. They were great product model makers then got into figures for Disney approval etc.

A fantastic job but you were at the end of the design chain which meant no time and everything was to tender, they didn’t value skill and relationship. More than a few all nighters

If I understood correctly the construction technique, there's an extensive use of counter-moulds for the interiors, which means it's impossible not to fit that.
Or better said, it wouldn't make sense, 'cause it would cost more to the builder to strip it than to leave it...

And then some. It was quite an expensive option. The one area where the Manhattan 55 beat the F55 was a crew cabin entrance through the transom. It meant you could use the toilet (providing it was plumbed into the black tank) whilst swimming off the back.

I actually think there are people who would prefer the walk in storage.

Either Tecma or Planus - with a slight preference for the latter, 'fiuaskme.
Nothing else comes close.

Obvs an Itama would have been better but that aside, congratulations Henry (y) . Looking fantastic. The interior is beautiful and will be even more so when the 100 scatter cushions arrive. I like the hi-lo saloon table with the Atep(I think) mechanism.

On USB plugs, definitely. I'm also having them sprinkled everywhere on my new project. Important to get plenty of USB C's, because that's where the world is heading fast with the new anti-waste laws in the EU.

100% agree on crew cabin/store room choice, and yes it needs some slick shelving.

I'd have zero preference between Tecma and Planus because both are so good. Tecma's older series is now feeling a tiny bit dated, or at least noisy, but their latest stuff, and Planus's stuff (same designers) are great, and quiet.

I think you'll love the Garmin gear when you get familiar with it. A nice trick is to hold your finger on any of the little black data boxes, and up pops a menu allowing you instantly to change what data is displayed there. You don't need the manual because everything is intuitive like, say, a Samsung UI. Except that zero-ing your XTE is sometimes felt to be non intuitive, but it's easy to do once you know how.

Hope the next few weeks of familiarisation go really well. And that the scatter cushions arrive urgently (tell Sharon I'm on her side in that debate 😁)

Worth ( if doing a new build ) talking to the builder re prop availability .You never know If ever you are gonna need them .
You need a dedicated space / rack to bolt them to , make good etc and a pair of new nuts and of course a spanner to fit said nuts . There isn’t one in that Prinny tool kit I can see that !
It ain’t too late for H to sort something and site them in the storage cabin bolted against a bulk head .Object d art ;) .

Its just so I understand chandlery’s ain’t swimming in them dripping off the shelf and prop guys can take most of a season to cast one up . Bit like Boubas fuel tank saga in terms of dead time .

My boat was specced as a water taxi commercially to ferry punters twixt Naples and hotel on Capri.

” Sorry the boat is unavailable “ is not something late arrival American guests wanna hear after a day on traveling.

So for H running a commercial ops ——- Hmm .
