New boat!

just been reading about that 600hp outboard - It looks a bit clever. 2 speed gearbox, and when you turn, only the gearcase turns ,the engine bit is fixed.

572kg - pretty light considering the power

You have to wonder if they have reached the stage where they are un-stealable
They are easy to steal as they are like Google’s, they are a plastic mould made on a 3 D printer , no mechanics in them . They are just for show when on the trailer.

few jobs done today. Switch panels removed for the redo. Gone much better this time.

the previous owner installed 6mm acrylic “windows” the went right up to the canopy

thought I’d try to improve so cut them down and had them tinted. 35% tint but might have gone a bit dark? Be a bugger to remove as the adhesives really bite into the plastic…..hence you should only use them on glass. An improvement though I think. If I’m feeling keen, I might cut the down further and sit them in the frame. Probably screw up the tint though.

I'll grudgingly admit to it coming along but as much as what you have done aesthetically to the screens I fear you may have made a cold boat colder and alowed the spray in. It is looking smart though. The paint job may even pass muster if I am lenient and take my glasses off. Definitely ready for the water then! See you this weekend. Menai, Port Dinorwic, 1pm Saturday. If you're late you're getting the drinks in!

I’ve noticed that you only have 14 rod holders. Any reason why you scrimped on them?‍♂️

Haven’t even wet sanded it yet!

re tinting, I guess if standing you look over the tinted piece right?
so you're only allowed to helm seated when the sun shines, are you moving her to the med? else it's rather pointless :p
does look nice, although I'd cut the top bit of the side perspex pieces to follow the curved ss bar above it, not the one below, nor straight or slanted. IMHO it would look a bit better and make the perspex feel ff.

V.

PS. didn't realise your heads has a portlight, the point being? ?

That’s what the side panels need! Good idea following the curves ?

no idea on the porthole….ventilation? ???

2nd attempted. Now with a final layer of the stuff you put on car bumpers to stop stone chips.

a few little bubbles but they seem to come out when left in the sun. You can’t see any flaws in direct sunlight. I’ve gone super close up on the pictures so nowhere to hide! I’m very happy with them seeing as it’s an inkjet printer and some sticky back plastic.

on the trim tab panel, Youve got the port and starboard the wrong way round!

only joking

Re Tab switching. You just or a user has got to remember to park it with the tabs up , rams closed to protect the seals .
This means pressing “ bow up “ the bottom pair I presume?

A position indicator dial is perhaps something for the future ?

k planes….never rot ???

Ive always run them up once the day is done. Fitted auto tabs on the last boat but still ran them up! Just habit. First world issue that on ?

ive wired them differently to as supplied. Crossed them over so port bow down is starboard tab down etc… Makes more sense to me
