New Boat - all to get underwater lights!

Absolutely lovely, congrats. Where will she live? And (most importantly) what flavour and combination of u/w lights have you gone for? :D

Cheers
Jimmy

Andrew - please keep the photos coming!

Also, as much background as you are happy to share - eg was this a stock boat, or one you commissioned from day 1 etc etc.

Many thanks!

Congratulations, the 58 is an excellent boat. Absolutely keep the pics coming and please take a vid or series pics of the cool and snazzy tender lift in action out of the water if you can.

Will do. Off to the SQ55 this morning to fix the only thing I know is wrong with her - the transom shower broke in the cold weather. Essex, I believe have already sold her to someone who owns one of my previous boats, a Targa 52 and it is important to me that everything is perfect for the next owner. Will also have the first run thru to remove all the excess stuff that builds up. Took me 7 hours last time to move all the kit over and the boats were moored next to each other!

Congrats, she looks lovely, I really like the interiors on the 55/58, and I believe they've now sensibly put storage under the saloon seating? Do you think the tender lift frame is going to limit the effectiveness of the stern thruster?

Keep the pictures coming

She will live at Berthons in Lymington (for the next year) - currently we are moored in Chichester but it is time for a change. And where next....Jimmy, am following your posts with interest and believe the Med is the next place for us.

As to the lights - not sure as they were fitted by Fairline at the factory. Will find out.

Andrew

Andrew,

As everyone has said a very lovely boat. I like to visit Lymington (with or without our boat) so I am sure to see to her on the water this year.

Good luck!

A big old chunk of boat :) Well done.

Totally agree with the whole stock boat / value for money argument and to be honest good dealers generally know what does and doesn't need to be fitted. You'll usually end up with the largest engine option and any bits that can't easily be retro-fitted already ordered.

Odds and sods can be fitted as required. The only thing you need to make sure is that factory items and techniques are used. Guys such as Essex will do this as second nature.

I don't know if I'd have the patience to order a brand new boat with all the waiting it involves. When I want to change I want to change. It's bad enough looking for the current replacement. What I have found interesting is that due to inflated expectations you can often buy a new stock boat for less than a used boat on brokerage!

Anyway, keep us all up to date on progress. Alway enjoyable to see someone else's journey.

Henry :)

waw what a interesting thread !
what appeared to be another "try to upset Searush thread :)"

is the preparation / comissioning of a brand new wonderfull boat.
congratulations ! and more pics please

6. Fit mini washer/dryer

what size is "mini" ?
what make is that ?

wish you many happy hours, and
looking forward to welcome you with the boat in the med, .... in the coming years

Concur with others, a very interesting thread and a fine boat indeed.

I wish you sunshine and many happy, unforgettable times aboard her.

Think I may have to go down to the post office and buy another lottery ticket later. In the mean time I shall have to make do with being green with envy. :)
