On several posts I have recommended this plotter without reservation.

From Fowey back to Falmouth last wednesday in fog and mist, 200mtrs to one mile max vis., on 3 occasions it reported that it had lost the signal and was no longer plotting the course. I was of course plotting my course regularly on the chart.

The decks were extremely wet, so was I, and I realised very quickly that bringing it out into the cockpit immediately started it up again, with no input from me. I was glad that I had connected the lead in such a way that I could bring it outside. I also dried the aerial "spike".

When I checked satellites it was registering 7 or 8 in contact but would not lock on until bringing outside.

On immediately returning it to the chart table in the cabin after it restarted it kept on going (it is mounted on velcro).

I was greatly relieved in that visibilty. It is a great piece of gear and all buoys appeared to starboard exactly where and when shown on the screen. My only problem on the route was poorly marked lobster pots though those with orange/yellow fluorescent flags were fine.
